A common concern regarding metal braces is the aesthetic impact it can have on someone’s smile. Metal braces can be a hassle to clean and can poke or irritate the gums. Invisalign® contains no metal and is practically invisible to the human eye when worn.

Initial Appointment

Every patient of ours will receive a consultation prior to any work being done so that we may determine if they are an ideal candidate for Invisalign. Going forward, ideal candidates for Invisalign® will have photos, digital X-rays, and impressions taken of their teeth so that Dr. Catlin can create digital 3-D images. These images will allow Dr. Catlin to create a treatment plan that fits the patient’s specific needs.

How does it work?

On the following visit patients receive their set of custom aligner trays based on the dimensions of the images taken on the prior visit. These aligners are clear and smooth, making for both a comfortable and concealed fit. The trays are then to be replaced in succession every several weeks to fit the new tooth configuration. In addition to the reduced visual impact, Invisalign® aligning trays can be temporarily removed for important occasions, meaning that treatment duration is patient-controlled. We highly recommend that the aligners are worn at all times except when eating or drinking.
